COVID-19 Vaccine approved for children 6 months to 5 years
on July 14, 2022, Health Canada authorized the use of the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine in children 6 months to 5 years of age.
In addition, NACI released a statement which recommends that a complete series (two-dose regimen of 25 mcg each) with this vaccine may be offered to children 6 months to 5 years of age who do not have contraindications to the vaccine, with a dosing interval of at least 8 weeks between the first and second dose.
The Ministry of Health is working to confirm details on shipment and delivery of this vaccine, and to finalize a guidance document for vaccine administration in Ontario.

As of 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022, parents and caregivers of children aged six months to under five years will be able to book appointments for the paediatric COVID-19 vaccine.
