Virtual Care at Midtown Pediatrics during COVID-19 Pandemic
Dear Families,
We hope this email finds you well and you are all staying healthy and safe.
As we all try to navigate this stressful time together, the Midtown Pediatrics team has moved to primarily virtual care. We are still bringing new babies and infants who need their vaccinations into the office, but almost everyone else is being seen virtually, using a variety of methods, including telephone, Ontario Treatment Network virtual visits, facetime, and other video call technologies.
Remember, just like online shopping or email, Virtual Care has some inherent privacy and security risks that your health information may be intercepted or unintentionally disclosed. We want to make sure you understand this before we proceed. In order to improve privacy and confidentiality, you should also take steps to participate in this virtual care encounter in a private setting and should not use an employer’s or someone else’s computer/device as they may be able to access your information. If you want more information, please check the link on our website and confirmation email. If it is determined you require a physical exam you may still need to be assessed in person. You should also understand that virtual care is not a substitute for attending the Emergency Department if urgent care is needed.
If you wish to consult with your child’s doctor virtually, please call 416-489-3273 or email [email protected] the office. We are still available daily during our usual office hours.

In the meantime,
Wash your hands.
Don’t touch your face.
Practice physical distancing.
Stay home for 14 days if you have travelled.
Isolate yourself at home if you have symptoms.
Call your local Public Health Authority if you get worse.
And hang in there!
Dr. Bayer, Dr. Gelman, Dr. Flanders, and the Midtown Pediatrics team
